I was so pleased to be chosen to review Peter Pan at the Stockport Plaza as Christmas isn’t Christmas without a panto is it… oh yes it is… on no it isn’t!! So me and my friend took our daughters, both aged 6.

We left in good time as I was unsure of what parking was available nearby. I’m glad we did as it was tricky trying to find a parking space near the Plaza. I ended up in a multi storey and walking for about 10/15 minutes. This was cheap enough though – £4 for four hours.

On arrival the staff were very helpful and friendly and guided us to our seats. We were sat on lower aisle M which gave us a good view of the stage. There was some nice music being played on entering which created a nice atmosphere.

The first half lasted about an hour. The show itself was great. The backgrounds and costumes were to a high standard. The characters had good singing voices too.

The girls both love Peter Pan and it was great to see the magic of the story unfold in front of their very own eyes. Our girls loved the costumes and the characters. They were laughing so much through the whole panto and never took their eyes off stage.

During the interval the toilets were obviously very busy. There was a disabled toilet on the right hand side of the stage too. There was food and drinks available at the stalls.

During the second half it was lovely to see some audience participation. Everyone was encouraged to wave their light up wands which you can buy from the theatre which cost around £5. Children and adults enjoyed joining in with this part. There was also a part where the audience got wet with water pistols; nothing sinister but just a bit of fun. They also announced birthdays and got some children up on stage which was very entertaining. Bradley Thompson was great with the children and very entertaining. John Altman great too and it was good to see him on stage.

The second half lasted about an hour again. The girls were tired after it had finished but they had so much fun.

There were many people there of all ages. It’s a fab show which caters for everyone. A fun filled, entertaining night. Thank you for this opportunity to start Christmas 2016 with a magical bang!

If you want to go to a fab, fun, family night out then this is the panto to go and see. You won’t be disappointed. Lots of laughter and great singing and dancing for every member of the family.
