OXO Good Grips Single Serve LiquiSeal Travel Mug Review

I was very excited to be chosen to review this travel mug as I am always in a rush in the morning so I love the idea of being able to take my morning cuppa to work with me. I have tried a few different travel mugs but the big problem is that they always spill so I can’t really take them in the car with me. I was, therefore, very interested to discover whether this mug would be as watertight as it promises. I can honestly say that I haven’t been disappointed. You can actually turn the mug upside down and it won’t spill as much as a drop! This means I can just throw it in my car along with my bags without worrying about spills and stains. And as long as my drink is piping hot when I put it into the cup, it will still be an adequate temperature when I arrive at work half an hour later. When you are ready to drink, you just have to press the little red button and the drink will pour from the spout.
When I received this mug I did not realise that it is designed to fit under a coffee maker; I only found this out when I looked at the website. I do not have a coffee maker but now I really want one as it would be a great bonus to fill my travel mug directly with fresh coffee. However, even if you do not own a coffee maker, this is still a fantastic travel mug as you can fill it with the hot drink of your choice from the kettle. I have been taking a cup of tea to work with me daily since I received my mug and I really look forward to arriving at work so I can pop the red button and enjoy my drink.
The mug is a smart silver colour with a black top, although it does come in other colours too. It is a practical shape which is very comfortable to hold. I like the curved shape of the drinking spout. The double wall construction means that your drink stays hot but you can still pick up the mug without burning your hand. It also looks very attractive and stylish because the inner wall is silver and the outer wall is transparent. The mug is shatterproof although I have not tested this yet! It is certainly a useful property for a mug that will get carried around a great deal; I’m sure sooner or later it will end up getting dropped. It certainly feels very sturdy and well made.
All in all this is a great item for a busy person who is always on the go and who wants to enjoy their favourite hot beverage wherever they go. It has already become an indispensable part of my daily routine!
