The Milton Mini Soother Steriliser is compact, measuring (7x7x7cm) and comes in purple, green or blue. It comes with 10 mini sterilising tablets free in the box; you need to use one tablet per use, so will need to order some more quite soon after you buy this, but they are inexpensive.
I found this quite fiddly to assemble the first couple of times that I used it, but it is quite simple now I’ve had some practice. Basically the idea is that you prepare the steriliser before you go out, then if your baby spits out their dummy or it gets dropped, you can pop it in – there are sponges soaked in solution inside which clean and sterilse the dummy in 15 minutes. The sterilser is fine to use over and over during a 24 hour period, which is useful if you are out all day or if you forget to take a spare dummy. As I use public transport or walk most places, the likelihood of a dummy being dropped somewhere less than savoury is quite high, so this gives me peace of mind. It is also a good product if you are like me and don’t like to use dummy clips for safety reasons. The steriliser is small and portable, and comes with a handy strap that can be used to attach it to your pram or changing bag so you don’t lose it somewhere. Another plus point is that the product comes completely to pieces, meaning it is easy to clean. I think the price is very reasonable too.
As there is no baby alive that can wait 15 minutes to get their dummy back, it would be a good idea to take a spare dummy with you so one can be sterilising whilst the other is in use.
This is a great little invention and a godsend to any parent that chooses to use dummies. It would make a great gift for any new mum as I doubt they will have thought of this.
Overall, I cannot fault this product, great value, great quality, highly recommended!
