Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse Review

I have 3 year old twins and had been looking for a playhouse for quite some time. We already had a Little Tikes slide and jumped at the chance of reviewing Cape Cottage. I like toys with a lot of play value and this house is suitable for my twins until they are 5 years old.

It came flat packed and I could not wait to put it together. The twins’ dad put the playhouse together in less than 20 minutes with just 2 screwdrivers. This was great as there is nothing worse than excited children and a toy that takes ages to assemble. One suggestion would be for the house number to be printed onto the house and not a sticker.

On opening the box there was:

2x roof panels
4x wall panels (2 with doors, 2 with windows)
2x doors
4x window shutters
1x pack of metal screws
1x pack of plastic screws
1x pack of roof clip covers
2x flag holders
1x instruction guide
1x sheet of stickers (door numbers, windows, locks, mail stickers)

Tom and Jack were delighted to see that their cottage has a post box. They love posting letters through it. The cottage has 2 opening windows and doors which is fantastic. The brick detailing looks amazing.

At present, the boys are using the cottage as a shop. Their toy shop fits inside perfectly with room for customers to shop too. Even my 9 year old daughter gets in on the action. My twins have many toys in the garden, but I have to say this playhouse is a firm favourite that keeps their attention for hours on end. It is just the right size for my not so big garden too and robustly built. The other thing that I have noticed is how chatty my boys are when playing in the house. This is a brilliant thing as one of my twins has speech and language delay. It is the perfect role play toy.

Overall I would recommend this playhouse for its top quality, style and great value. I can see it being a favourite for years to come.
