We went to get our families LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester annual pass renewed so we can make full use of it throughout 2014 – and it seemed lots of other families had the same idea too! The queue for a Sunday lunchtime wasn’t that bad really if you already had your pass or were just paying to visit on the day. If you joined the queue for pass renewals or for purchasing annual passes, you were given a form to complete whilst waiting, and the queue, whilst long, moved steadily.

There were people in the queue, like us, obtaining passes for just LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester. It’s a really good price at only £35 per person or £120 for a family pass (2 adults, 2 children). If you are renewing your annual pass that is about to expire or has just expired the price are £25 and £75.

The annual pass gets you free admission for the year, as well as discounts at the centre’s shop, restaurant and off birthday parties held there. You also receive a discount booklet with offers for local venues including Namco bowling, Chill Factor and Frankie & Benny’s – very handy if you use the Trafford Centre on a regular basis, and there’s also a voucher for free entry to LEGOLAND Windsor – somewhere on our ‘to do’ list this year…  Also included is a free subscription to the LEGO magazine and to the LEGO club!

The annual passes really are worth the money… Think how much you spend on soft play areas alone throughout the year – there’s a fabulous soft play area inside the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre which keeps my daughter and friend entertained for ages – that’s without the building areas, 4D cinema, rides, race track – and let’s not get started on how long she spends on the LEGO Friends singing platform!

You can also purchase a Merlin annual pass which will allow you to visit all of the Merlin venues up and down the UK including Blackpool Tower, Chessington, Alton Towers – the list is long and fabulous!
