Jimmy’s World Grill is an all you can eat Buffet with all your favourite foods from around the world. Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Italian and there’s also a selection of salads. There are Live stations with chefs who will cook food to order.

Myself and my partner hadn’t visited this restaurant before so were unaware exactly where it was; we found it easily but this location is fairly hidden and does not do this restaurant any favours but once inside it’s really quite lovely. It’s really big and spacious with fabulous decor. Such a shame it can’t be seen from the main street. I was certainly impressed once inside!

We were greeted straight away by a young lady who promptly seated us in the busier part of the restaurant which was fine with me as I like a bit of atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and well maintained and the staff all looked the part. Our drinks arrived quickly and the Manager showed us around the food stations which was a lovely touch, he explained all the dishes and how the live stations worked. We were so surprised at the amount of food on offer. It certainly looked the part.

We helped ourselves to a selection of foods which I have to say was delicious the food was of really good quality. I really liked the idea of the live station as this was also an experience picking your ingredients and seeing it cooked in front of you. Between each course our plates were cleaned away immediately and they seemed to look after every table as well as they looked after ours.

We were even brought a surprise dish to the table to try which I really enjoyed and we thought this was a lovely personal touch!

Before we visited the restaurant we checked out the menu online and both spotted our favourite dish ‘crispy duck pancake rolls’ we were quite disappointed not to see this dish, I did ask a member of staff if it was available and was told they change the dishes throughout the day. This could have maybe been clearer online; however staff couldn’t have been more helpful helping us chose another dish.

We certainly enjoyed dessert and there was plenty of options. The chocolate fountain was a hit and I could see it went down well with the children diners.

We both visited the restrooms and they were modern, clean and seemed well maintained.

Overall it was a really pleasant evening with superb food and friendly helpful staff.

We have named it Derby’s best hidden secret!!

We will definitely be visiting soon.
