Dr Beckmann Carpet Stain Remover Review

Dr Beckmann Carpet Cleaner is a new product to me and was keen to try it out.

This is a carpet and upholstery cleaner which promises to remove stains and also take away any smells – even pet odours, which is great as we have a little puppy. The formula is suitable for removing stains including coffee, grease, red wine, fruit juice as well as more common household stains.

The bottle is 650ml and easy to hold, I like the fact that it comes with a really handy brush attached to the top of the bottle so that when you squeeze it helps get the cleaner worked right into the spillage and stain. As you squeeze the bottle the liquid comes through the brush and it foams up as you apply to the area of the stain. It recommends leaving for 3 minutes to let the foam do its magic (it also recommends blotting up some of the stain first and removing any loose dirt).

I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely fresh clean smell that the foam gave, particularly useful when our puppy has had little accidents on our carpet.

I decided to use this product on a stain that has been there on my daughter’s carpet for a while, blackcurrant juice, which resulted in a dark staining to her cream carpet. I was delighted that after leaving the foam on for the recommended 3 minutes I followed the instructions which tells you to use a clean damp white cloth to gently remove the stain… and yes it did just that. And even better no white marks or residue left on the carpet which I have found with other cleaners. I like the fact this would be easy to use on upholstery too and love the smell. Not chemically at all, lovely and fresh and clean smelling.

I would highly recommend this cleaner as a cupboard essential! You never know when you may need it. And with the added bonus of neutralising odours it’s great if you have pets too. I certainly won’t be worrying now if we have anymore little spillages around the house.
