I have recently reviewed the Comosatto Yo! Pushchair made by Cosatto. This is a lightweight pushchair suitable from birth and available in a variety of designs. My review is based on a 20 month old toddler who is of average weight and size.

The main features of this pushchair are lightweight aluminium frame, which has a variety of reclining positions, lockable front swivel wheels for accurate steering and a two break stopping system meaning it can be locked from either side. The pushchair weighs just 7kg and has a folded size of 116cm length, 30cm width and 34cm in height.

The first thing I noticed about this pushchair is just how light it is, the aluminium frame really does mean that its very light to lift and out of the car/ bus, it also has a handy clip on the side to keep the pushchair secured together whilst carrying, this was a very useful feature. Whilst it didn’t affect us directly as we have a large estate and a van – the pushchair does seem particularly long when folded as the front wheels don’t fold back, this may be an issue for those with smaller cars. Despite being lightweight the pushchair felt very substantial and well-built when put together and sturdy when pushing around.

I tested this pushchair in several different environments and was overall very impressed. It really is perfect for taking round the shops, its size means it’s practical to get through the doors and around narrow aisles, I didn’t find it the easiest for pushing up and down kerbs and but once you develop the knack it’s not so bad. We took the pushchair round the zoo and found it performed well on a variety of different surfaces including wet grass.

We chose the Camosatto design for our little boy – it has a modern geometrical design in camouflage colours but it’s not overwhelming. Our particular pushchair came complete with a snuggly fleece-lined foot muff and matching changing bag which was a nice touch. The changing bag is plenty big enough to hold a change of clothes, a few toys and nappies. Also included is a rain cover in a handy compact bag for storage and a fleece head support for younger babies.

Another nice feature of this pushchair is the large storage basket underneath the seat, which is plenty big enough to fit in a changing bag or some shopping, the only small issue we did have is because the space is so big, I was often tempted to overfill it then struggled putting the seat down flat for when my son wanted to sleep. The cosytoes is really great quality and can see how it could be a lifesaver during winter really snuggly but plenty of space for them to move around.

I was impressed with the size of the hood on the pushchair which was a good size and great for keeping the sun out of my son’s eyes and combined with the cosytoes was enough to cope with very light showers without having to put the raincover on.

There were a few negatives I found with this pushchair in particularly in relation to using the pushchair with a toddler. My son is of average height and build and whilst I found the depth and height of the seat to be enough, it was difficult to get him off to sleep in the pushchair at times as whilst the top of the seat folds down flat his legs are left to dangle. It seems to be a slight oversight that the bottom part of the pushchair does not lift to allow a fully flat seat for napping in. Another small negative was that the straps were made of a very shiny fabric which for some reason needed constantly adjusting as the ladder buckles seemed to slip loose, I found this particular frustrating with a wriggly toddler!

I didn’t find the breaks the easiest to work, especially when trying to lock them, but that could just be because they were a bit stiff being a new pushchair. I did appreciate the fact that the pushchair could be locked from either side.

Overall I thought this was a great pushchair, its design is eye catching as are the others in the range that I have seen, several people asked us about it whilst pushing it around. The pushchair is very lightweight for its size which was appreciative as I am currently pregnant and meant it was very easy to lift in and out of the car. It’s very well built and every element of it really does say quality, the frame is sturdy and the fabrics are lovely – very impressive. The small let down for me was the fact the leg part didn’t rise so it could be fully reclined and that the straps were quite slippy and so needed adjusting frequently.

The Cosatto Yo! come in a variety of modern designs for both sexes, a  4 year guarantee, free cosytoes, free chestpads, free headhugger, free raincover and a free changing bag and costs £280.
