On the 1st May, my family and I went to see the Chinese State Circus performing their new show Yin and Yang at the corn exchange in Bedford. We arrived and were shown to our seats in the second row, which was nice as that meant the kids would have a good view. I must admit I wasn't expecting much as the room wasn't overly large and the stage didn't look big enough for a circus to perform on.

How wrong was I! The performance started off with four beautiful ladies with Chinese instruments, the music was bewitching and then all of the performers came on stage and danced.

The show was absolutely amazing, the performers were excellent, I think the Shaolin Warriors were my personal favourite as they were crazy, they did movements that you normally only see in movies, they then broke metal and wooden poles with their body, I think the highlight was when one of them laid down on a bed of nails and had a concrete block put on his stomach and the other gentlemen broke it with a sledgehammer.

The group as a whole were incredibly graceful and talented, some of the ladies were incredibly strong as they were walking on each others heads and throwing people about, the men also put on such incredible acts that were beautiful to watch.

All I can say is if you get the chance to go and see them, do it, you won't be disappointed.
